Camping!

We went camping last weekend up in Williams with my family! But, before I go any furthur, I have to make a confession... we stayed in a hotel. I know, I know, that is not real camping (although, I'll have you know, even of those who really "camped", only Trent and Trevor slept in a tent and Grandpa Dennis under the stars! The rest were in motor homes.). :)

Anyway, the day before we left on the trip, Morgan got a cold, along with a fever. The fever was gone by the next day and we figured he would be just as miserable at home as he would be out in the fresh air, so we decided to go, but to stay in a hotel since it still gets very cold at night. I think he enjoyed camping a lot, actually, with all those grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles and cousins to squish on him!

Camping was a blast! We had LOTS of family: Grandpa Dennis and Grandma Vickie, who hosted the event on their property; Uncle Bubba, Trevor and Taylar, up from Phoenix; Uncle Dan and Great-Great Grandma Dea (do you know anyone else who can say they went camping with their great-great grandma?!); Papa John and Grammy Jamie with Darrell and Trent; and Uncle Don and Aunt Pam who brought Chewy, their dog, along for his first camping trip!

Along with Chewy, the other trip mascots were Bud, Rocky, Bocifus, Foxy Lady, and Husso.

It was a big crowd!

The next few posts will be mostly pictures from our trip! I had fun with my new camera, however, I felt a little frustrated. I was more interested in simply capturing the moment and it was frustrating to have to focus so much on simply learning the basics of how to use the camera. Uncle Dan taught me a few tricks, though, so it was fun to get to practice a bit!

Some of the pictures were taken by Darrell, too.

Enjoy!

Darrell had lots of fun getting pictures of the camp fire!

Mother's Day

Travis treated me to a wonderful Mother's Day surprise (though I ended up finding out about both of them - unintentionally, mind you!).

First, we went to see Babies, a documentary that showed the lives of 4 babies from 4 different parts of the world - San Francisco, Tokyo, Mongolia, and Zimbabwe. It was so neat! My mother-in-law and Malachi and Morgan all joined us. Malachi really liked the movie - it had a lot of animals in it and he would say, "Wow! That's a cow! Moooo," and the people in the theater thought he was pretty funny!

Then, Granny took Malachi home and Trav, Mo and I went to the Top of the World restaurant at the Stratosphere. It was beautiful! Morgan slept through most of dinner, which was great!

Thank you, Baby, for a special day!

Christmas Day at Our House

We had a bunch of family over for Christmas Day. Granny, Poppy, Dylan, Papa John, Grammy, Darrell, Trent, Grandma Pat and Grandpa Ray.
I don't know what he's doing, but he's cute!
Very happy about my Norah Jones CD; Morgan doing what he does best...

Malachi in his new Spongebob PJ's, with matching blanket and pillow. He doesn't really know who Spongebob is, but he likes his new stuff!
Brothers! We have a bit of a routine. In the morning, I bring Morgan in and change him, get him dressed, give him a little sponge bath, and then set him in the crib where Malachi is. Malachi likes to sit in there for a while and kiss on his brother, and poke at him, and pull on him, and pet him. It is so cute.

Not sure what they are doing

I love this picture. He looks cross-eyed because he's looking at the fuz on his hat :)

Conked out after a long day!

Christmas Eve at Our House

We have so much family, it's a challenge to get to spend time with everyone during holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. This Christmas Eve, we decided to have the Adams side of the family (Betsy's dad's side) over for dinner and then go to the candelight Christmas Eve service at our church together.Malachi playing with his Spongebob blanket and pillow from Papaw Steve and Grandma Shelley. Grandma Adams and Darrell got their heads cut out of the picture. Oops!
Morgan got a VERY soft blanket from Papaw Steve and family. I love it!

Malachi loves hats and he loves to put socks on his hands, so the beanie and mittens were perfect! Thanks Grandma!
