Trip to the Hualapais

My cousin Tijera came to town from Vegas for my birthday and we took a trip to the Hualapai Mountains. The clouds were gorgeous. We had a great day!

Tijera's dog, Alika
Mountain Man!
What a view!
Tijera and Malachi going down the slide. By the end of the day Malachi was going down this slide all by himself!
Sand Angels!

He was filthy by the time we left - what fun!
Look close and you'll see the dirt smudged on his face

Later that night, Tijera watched Malachi for us while we went to a really nice restaurant in town for dinner. Thanks Tijera!

Our Latest Project

We are very excited to have some grass in our courtyard! The grass will cut down on a lot of dust and it will keep our little yard cooler.

Malachi LOVES to be outside. He would be out there all day if I'd let him! Now that we have some grass I can let him play out here a lot more.

The tree in the back is our fig tree - it's loaded with figs!
The tree to the very left is a pomagranate tree.
The building is our garage.
The firstfruits of the season.

Don't know what kind of tree this is but it's flowers are beautiful!

The view from the porch.
That's a waterfall in the background, but I think we'll use it as a planter.

Malachi Learns Sign Language

Sheila gave us a video and book about teaching your baby basic signs so they can communicate before they are able to speak. Baby's gain contol over their hands sooner than they learn to articulate words. I was getting abit discouraged with it, though, because he didn't seem to be catching on for a long time. But then, during our vacation to California, he began to imitate the signs almost immediately! It is so fun to see him soak up all this new information - and you can tell he is so proud when he uses his signs.

You'll see in the video that he looks toward whatever item he is signing.
